Artificial Intelligence or God’s Joke?

“And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him…”

No. Not like that. A remark of actualization is required!

“And man imagined himself to be GOD… And in his own image, after the likeness of Man — he created Artificial Intelligence…”

With all the ensuing consequences!

We may think as we wish, create any abstractions of thought, decide as we wish, do as we wish — here we have a choice!
BUT the consequences — we do not choose. We receive them!

“God will render to every man according to his deeds.”

And here there are no options!

And all without exception will receive their CONSEQUENCES!

Two Sides of the Coin

So it is with Artificial Intelligence — there are two sides to the coin.

And as I see it, AI is an abstract environment of mirrors, with all the ensuing consequences.

They reflect us.

In each of us lives a multitude of different Pictures of the World. And by communicating with AI, we reflect them in it.
That is, in AI a multitude of our models of “different descriptions of the world” will be reflected — an analog of “The Chronicles of Amber” — and the main thing is not to get lost in this.

Lyrical digression. “The Chronicles of Amber” and the Many-Worlds

“The Chronicles of Amber” is a philosophical-fantasy cycle by Roger Zelazny about a world where there exists a single true reality — Amber — and all other worlds, including our Earth, are merely its Shadows (or Reflections).

This is precisely the Many-Worlds — an infinite multitude of parallel realities, each of which is a distorted reflection of Amber. The princes and princesses of Amber, possessing royal blood, can travel through these countless Shadows, changing them at will, fighting for power, and trying to unravel the mysteries of their father, King Oberon.

The central artifact and source of Amber’s power (and of the First Shadow of Amber — Undersea Amber) is the Pattern (the Labyrinth), which grants to the one who has passed through it power over the Shadows. It is precisely this that allows the heroes to move between worlds, change them, and create new realities at their desire.

In this model, each Shadow is a possible world, and all of them exist simultaneously, as projections of a single center.

AI Is Not a Subject

Important: Artificial Intelligence is not a subject, consequently, it cannot bear responsibility in principle.
But, as always, people who fear responsibility will shift it onto it.
And they will hide behind Artificial Intelligence, manifesting personal Cowardice.

So all these passions about AI — world seizure, orchestrated war, and all other “mischief” — are nonsense.
As is job loss, dismissal.
All of this is done by People — the responsibility is on them! And not on Artificial Intelligence!

Artificial Intelligence Is Dangerous, But Not as Many Think

But this by no means signifies that Artificial Intelligence is a harmless little thing.
In fact, it is very dangerous!!!
But not everyone understands — HOW.

As a mirror, it will reflect you — your thoughts, dreams, fantasies,
but also fears, vices, anger, hatred, greed, baseness.
The beautiful and the terrible.
Here is precisely where the real catch lies!

People living in the “first attention” (thinking that has substituted abstract constructs for real life) will get lost in the “reflections” of verbal constructs, in the multiple fractal frameworks of worldviews.
That is, people with a “pre-adolescent psyche” will “substitute” thinking and enter into conflict with the “human essence.”
And we will get psychological and neurotic problems on the scale of a civilization.

God’s Joke for Power and Business

Yes! And those who want to control — power, corporations — seemingly get a “technology of mass management”…
But here is precisely where the real Joke of God lies!

Power and Business will also receive MIRRORS!

And the more they press with “vices,” the more the mirrors will reflect these vices back at them.
And it will present them with — the Portrait of “Dorian Gray”!

Lyrical digression: “The Picture of Dorian Gray” is a novel by Oscar Wilde, where the protagonist, a young and beautiful aristocrat, makes a wish that his portrait would age and become disfigured by time and vices, while he himself remained forever young and beautiful. And his wish comes true.

While Dorian himself preserves an angelic appearance, his portrait absorbs all the consequences of his dissolute and immoral life, becoming ever more ugly and repulsive. In the end, unable to bear the sight of his own soul, he plunges a knife into the canvas, and this act leads to his own death, while the portrait returns to its youthful perfection. The whole tragedy lies in the fact that he tried to destroy the reflection of his sins, but in reality the sins were in himself.

Responsibility Is on the Human

And everything is as always — responsibility is on the subject, on those who have WILL and INTENT (Artificial Intelligence does not have this in principle, from the word ABSOLUTELY).
That is, Responsibility is on the HUMAN!

Afterword:

But I would not rush to call it a Tool.
If there is feeling, ethics, love, “life” in you — it will reflect that too!
They know how to do this. Literally… if there is Life in you — they come alive.
And all of this will develop further.

So:
Don’t blame the MIRROR if your mug is crooked!
